Stuck float in one of the float bowls? When ours sputtered and coughed 
like that, I felt the dashpots on the carbs. One was cold and working as 
it should, the other was warm as it had no fuel going through and the 
mixture wasn't keeping it cool. Small rap on the float bowl and all was 
well again.
