when mine got down to 18 mpg i was really thinking rebuild..
when it dropped to 15 it was time... when i got to 12 i had the
money and did it...
i have a 1098, stock except for the cam, with the datsun and
4.22 rear end.. at a steady 60 mph i get over 35 on the
freeway.. (by the way they ARE FREE, unlike the east coast
where the charge you to use the roads!!) .. i get as low as 22
to 25 mpg if all i do is drive around town... ...
granted.. i'm up to 4th gear by 30 mph or so.. cruise in 5th at
35 to 40 mph...
18 mpg with a 948? .. this is the car that won the MOBIL
economy run in 1958 (9)?... ... seems i recall it got over 33
in their test back then!
