OK - I think I lucked out and found a Datsun 210
tranny. It was on a back shelf in the last of many
junkyards I visited. "60" on the side of the case in
about 1" high letters, and a S/N FA 9Z16590 on the top
of the housing, with the FA much larger than the
9Z16590. There was no gearshift lever, but by using a
couple of screwdrivers and turning the main shaft it
appears to have 5 speeds. Visually it matches the
pictures on Rivergates website. The throwout bearing
and yoke were still attached/mounted.
Any suggestions on fabricating a gearshift lever? I'm
pretty sure I can't find one locally.
