Interestingly enough, I am using the JC Whitney 222855 GLASSPACK MUFFLER 19"
referenced by Roger Cotting. Yes, the description says :glasspack", but it
is not. it is the classic shape of a glasspack, but inside there is a plate
welded in each end with a single perforated tube spot-welded to each plate
pointing diagonally into the center so that they do not line up with each
other. It was recommended to me by Bill Perry of Rivergate fame. They are
aluminized and very thick gauge metal. So thick, in fact, that I had to slot
the mounting tubes so that I could get some crush with a clamp!

Unfortunately, I am waiting for my replacement to show up because one of the
tubes came loose from the plate and is jingling nicely inside making the car
sound like some idiot is losing the exhaust system ;-) . It IS a little
louder than I really wanted, but not quite to the objectionable stage. With
tax and shipping, it cost me $45.

The problem with the ricer fart cans is that they start at about 2.5"...
