Some may remember my telling of my purchase on Ebay of an Haynes MGB manual,
and a Haynes Weber manual (includes SU and Stromberg) at a good price.
Well, the seller, Bookmarz, has apparently just given them to me free.
I tracked them when they didn't show up in 10 days, and got a form letter
email back telling me how to trace the shipment on their web page. I waited a
couple of days and tried again, and when no info showed on the tracking site,
I emailed a complaint. They sent the same form letter again and I got a
little hostile, but they then replied quickly with a personal email, and when
the shipment didn't show in a couple of more days, offered to cancel the order
and refund my money. They said there was a problem, they were out of stock
and the books had not been shipped.
I responded to them that I'd wait until they restocked. Then, the next day,
the manuals arrived!
I was happy and sent them an email telling them I received the books and the
problem must have been in their tracking.
Yesterday, I got a notice from PayPal that my full purchase price and
postage had been refunded! Ebay sent two notices that the sale was being
canceled!
I sent them positive feedback of course and I'll buy from them again. It's
unusual to get personal responses from most companies these days, and to
refund my purchase because they messed up the shipping records is just short of
phenomenal. I got these a good price in the first place, under $40 for both
including shipping, and free is even better!
Bookmarz, on Ebay, gotta try 'em!
