Gerry....
and just coincident with what other "event"
did this "suddenly" become a problem?? With the onset of summer temperatures,
perhaps??
Worn electrodes can certainly make for
pre-ign/detonation but since you've
renewed plugs (ass-u-me the correct
heat range during conversion to Bosch
Plat.) the quality of fuel (or water within)
MIGHT be the culprit.
Today's gasolines suck. "Garbage" octanes
and now, no sulphur so "storageability"
is at an all-time low as well.
Now.......patronize an "off-brand" or filling
station that doesn't keep it's tanks/filters
in good order and together with the foregoing......there, you have it.
You got the 8.3 or 9.0-1 motor, Gerry??
89PON min. for the former, definitely "hi-
test" for the latter.
