I am glad that someone has finally chimed in with the correct answer ;^)).

Actually, when the Miata was first put for sale in the U.S. it was an MX-5 
Miata.  I had one of the first ones to hit the eastern U.S.  It was a great 
car and is hard to fault in any way.
