Mike....my $.03 or...."Do You Love Your Engine"? :) The timing chain won't care but the oil "system" MIGHT not be as forgiving...it's got small channels. Now MOST LIKELY the leftovers will wash right through or get trapped in the filter.....BUT... then again....what's the point in taking a chance in contaminating the oil system with ANYTHING, assuming one has a choice?
