I've also heard of folks having issues putting it on freshly poured
concrete. I think you are supposed to wait 3 months after the pad is
poured, so the concrete can set up. Then you can clean off the crap that
comes to the surface as part of the concrete curing process.
I did use muriatic acid to clean the concrete before we used the stuff that
came with the epoxy kit. We scrubbed the hell out of the concrete with some
really stiff shop brushes and muriatic acid solution until the concrete was
super clean. Then we rinsed off the concrete and repeated the muriatic acid
solution scrub. Once we felt EVERYTHING came off of the floor, then we used
the citric acid solution from the kit. We then let the floor dry out
overnight, ran a broom across the floor one last time, then started
painting. We had a team of three, two painting, one refilling the paint
trays and applying the sprinkles.
As for Frank's comment about spray paint, I haven't had any stick. A quick
wipe with a rag with paint thinner on it, and the overspray comes right up.
I've spilt oil, brake fluid, bleach, brake cleaner, and left a leaky car
battery on the floor. None of them have left any lasting impressions.

I used this, too, on my garage floor when I expanded the garage.
It seems to be sticking really well on the "old" concrete, but it has
lifted in a couple of places on the new. When I put a lot of weight on
one point, as in using a floor jack, it will lift. I think it is
probably because I didn't acid etch the new concrete enough. The
Rust-o-leum instructions tell you don't have to use muriatic acid to
etch, just their citric acid. I don't think that works on new concrete.
I did use muriatic acid, but I suspect I didn't let it sit long enough or
used a strong enough mixture. I just have to be sure to have some wood
or something under my jack.
Other than that, I'm very pleased with it.
One other hint that I got from another forum-- use two coats, it will
cover better. You have to recoat after 12 and before 24 hours or you
have to scuff it. Figure on using half again for the second coat. IOTW,
if you used one gallon for the first coat, a half gallon will do the
second.
There is also U Coat It, which is about twice the work and twice the
price, but they guaranty it.
