| Chuck,
I'm a little miffed that the shop didn't catch it. I basically presented
the block and pistons to him and asked him to check them out and measure
them. He told me they were all okay, so I asked him to just hone out the
cylinders. I didn't notice the groove when I took the block to him.
I'd estimate that the groove is about 0.003" deep. The cylinders are
currently 0.030" overbored. I didn't get the block back down to the shop
today, but will do so tomorrow, and I'll let everyone know what happens.
