Removing coating from alloy wheels x-mac-creator="4D4F5353"

I have some Hotwire wheels in my Mini and
imagine many spridget and mini wheels also
have some kind of sealer/varnish/shellac/whatever
to keep them shiny.

I'd like to polish them better and then coat
them with the Eastwood product, for example.

What cleaner won't harm the aluminum alloy?

Ideas?
