Yeah, you're right about LEDs and smaller loads...at least it happened
to me on my big Healey. I replaced the 1157 bulbs in the tail lights
with LEDs from Auto Zone (about $7 apiece) and they didn't blink, just
glowed steadily. Put the 1157s back in and everything was OK again.
Turned out that bad grounding was the problem all along.

I have used the bicycle flag on the long fiberglass pole when I had my
Sprite on the road. Back then I guess it was for the "sporty" look (over
25 years ago). Should have had the flag on the motorcycle when I got
rear ended. Wouldn't have helped as the guy was drunk.
I think that if you use LED's in place of your turn signal bulb, you may
need to replace your blinker module with one that can operate with the
smaller electrical load. Can anyone confirm this?
