Have a look at these

I JUST replaced the axel in mine 3 weeks ago, mine sheared off and the
piece was stuck, I bought a GREAT magnet for 30 bucks that fits on a
broom stick to get the piece out, but it was jammed up in there, I went
from the other side took the axel out, and used a heavy gauge brazing
rod to kind of "persuade" it to come out.
Hindsight I would have had the magnet "in there" when I popped the piece
out, becsue it dit fell down, and I had to do some Houdini stuff to get
it out, but I did get it out :)

Subject: Removing Rear Axle?
Well, I got a little too aggressive at an intersection last night.
Light turned green, I got on it, and bang! nothing there.
Pulled the rear wheels and the right-side rear axle this
morning. That one is ok. The left-side rear axle will not
extract. I need help. I'm guessing that when it snapped,
it also jammed somewhere in the housing. Any suggestions
on how to free this up? So far I've tried only a variety of
pry bars, to no avail.
thanks,
chuck
