Carpetting and sound deafner

Hello,

Well, I am now recarpetting the car and have some more auestions :) go
figure...

Where do I place the sound deafner stuff 
- on the floor pan (do I only place it were the feet go or also under
the seats)
- on the firewall?
- on the side of the firewall?
- On the truck to cabin separation?
- on the drive shaft tunnel?

Also, there is 2 side to the stuff: one is bright and shiny, the
otherone is fabric of some type. Which one goes on the car side and
which one on the carpet side?
