Actually, Lester...

The original rotary-engined Pup would be
more of a handful than the more "normally" powered (inline-engined)
SPAD. Pretty much like flying a heliocopter I am told. Constant
corrections for torque affects.

Fr'instance, according to the appropriate authorities, the
shorter-coupled rotary- engined Sopwith Camel killed about as
many pilots in training as met their deaths
as flying this type in combat!!
