Funny you should mention the 
Manston Gregory "leap".

Just got through watching a program on
racing safety improvements throughout 
motor car racing history. Played last
Thursday evening while I was downing
a few at the local watering hole with
"da guys" (and girls:).

This event was mentioned...unbelievable
(but true:). 

How he hell they stayed in their seats
without belts around some of those corners (accident or not) mystifies
the
hell outta me. Musta been holding onto
the wheel for dear life, let alone spending
time using it for steering, eh? :)
