I had a lifter tapping noise in a car several years ago, a close friend
(who was a mechanic) told me to turn up the radio and the noise would
disappear.....
SOooooo, my suggestion for your situation is;
Put a louder exhaust on it....... The fuel pump noise will no longer be
noticeable ;)
