Elgin believes in a bit more duration rather than lift and thus "softer
ramps"
for decreased accelerative forces approaching/over the "nose". Cams
last longer this way and less strain on
valve train components, etc., all else
being equal.
If Bill Gillcrease is running it in his
street machines....well....what else
needs to be said! I wouldn't worry about
it's suitability any more than I would
concern myself with it's ability to rev,
once broken in, Jim
Stay disciplined on the break-in revs, Jim.
(good for you) 'cause a little self-control
now will add many, many miles to the
service life of the mechanicals over time.
Good luck and enjoy! :):)
