Anyone ever seen a piston...detonation
damage?

Affirmatron. Not only catastophic, but the
pinhole damage that occurs over time
as piston crowns take a beating when
running "overadvanced" at the top, wherein exhaust sound can muffle
the sound of incipient "detonation".
