What technology was used to take the actual picture? We had similar shots on
our web page at work acouple of years ago and the photos were taken with a
strange setup that, in effect, took a picture of a reflection in a
hemi-sphere. The results were converted into a very strange gif file and
some proprietary code on the webpage made it work the way yours does. Of
course, ours aren't working any more ... too many server changes and not
enough interest.
