Thgose who attended already know they had a great time, those who missed
it....Well, you missed a great time!
Great people, great cars, fantastic roads, beautiful scenery, and
perfect weather. What else is there?
Once again the Valentines outdid themselves. The rally was on alot of
the same roads as before but with a completely different format.
A giant poster with a bunch of small pictures. To quote Kevin and Rob,
"You don't have to know how to read to participate and/or finish the
rally but if you can't read, you probably won't win."
Well I didn't read, I forgot to put my name on the poster. DUH!
Oh, the poster was just a bit bigger than the cockpit of a Sprite.
So as the navigator opened it up, it blocked the drivers view of the
road ;) We all learned map folding too.
There was the classic scavenger hunt included in the rally.
And I don't care what others say, LARRY CHEATED! That was a corn COB
pipe, not a corn STALK pipe Larry. So put THAT in that thing you called
a pipe and smoke it!
There was also a "white elephant" gift exchange, I won a 1/2" air impact
wrench, and yes it works!
If you missed it, be sure to come next year.
There are a few listers close by that do not come to this event. I have
to ask WHY? All it costs is gas to get there and a few bucks for the pot
for the pizza after the rally. Kevin even supplies the beer!
And some list people who are in the parts business donate goodies and
prizes. There is no excuss NOT to attend.
I spent about 7 hours in the Sprite yesterday, no problems to speak of
other then a loose ground on my left rear signal so I guess I did a good
job assembling it.
Whole hearted thanks to the Valentines for putting on another fantastic
rally.
