Hello Frank,
Here are some random thoughts on the idea.

If we have commercial establishments donate time or stuff (could be
parts, paint, sandpaper, fuel line, bondo :-)) what do we offer to
make the deal appealing to this group of people. Recognition at SS50th
in some form. Maybe a reference as a list of helpers or suppliers in
a magazine article (more later). Think big.

Unlimited or limited tickets? If you have to be there to win the
amount you can make drops (most likely). I like raffles that you
have to be there to win or the number of tickets are limited. I buy
several $100 tickets for a new BMW every year. Never won.

I really hate to be a wet blanket, but are there liability issues for
Rick et al. Sorry.

60 Days. Worst case 6 people/year, 4.5 years, 27 stops on the tour.
One thing to consider is one or more OSHIT style events. This would
be good for things that require lots of grunt work, like stripping the
tub, scraping under coating, hand sanding before, during and after
painting, attaching all the lights and small parts, etc.

Again what would really make a company want to participate? This may
be more tricky than you think since the event is 5 years off. It would
take faith. Any idea from the people on the list who make
there living from cars or parts.
This could be that start of a magazine article. I am no expert but
how about pictures at each location, someone to scribe the events that
took place on the tour, then someone to pull the notes into a useable article.
Would be nice to be published before SS50th. Any thoughts.

Frank> doing body and paint while some one else can do engine and trans.
Frank> The body and mechanicals portion might work something like this:
Frank> 1st Body Strip Down & Assessment
Frank> 2nd Welding/Body work
Frank> 3rd Paint
Frank> 4th Suspension ... making it roll again
Frank> 5th Brakes ... making it stop
Frank> 6th Electric system
How about things like cleaning, blasting and powered coating/painting
various parts. There are plenty of parts that will need to be cleaned,
fixed and paint while off the car. That would not require you to have
the car, but is it a bad idea to split this stuff up, and how would you
keep track of who has what.
Frank> etc....
Frank> PUT YOUR BID IN NOW TO JOIN THIS TEAM !!!!!!!
Count me in for at least a OSHIT style event. Not sure I am the guy
to have the car for 60 days to do some work.
Frank> If we get this *idea* rolling soon, we have almost 5 years to make a
Frank> stunning golden anniversary Sprite. Just think YOU might even win it!!
We need a catchy name that can be published, using it for
advertising, etc. Think witty.
Win, I doubt it, but hell I will try!
