Well the $200 Midget I bought at Carlisle last Spring is just about
finished. I drove it all over today. It runs nice, stops fine (after the
3rd brake master swap), and the front end is like that german prostitute
"Guduntite". I forgot about the darn tape on the driveshaft and it just
about gave me a heart attack when it started flopping against the
tunnel. It finally came off and the car is just sweet :)
Of course the wipers still park in the dead opposite straight up
position so I snipped the park wire and a flick of the switch fixed
that. The horn worked all of once, and the gas gauge quite as soon as I
filled the tank. Somehow the new parking lamp lens got broken.
Typical MG gremlins. But all in all it went very well.
I need to know how you stock Spridget owners can stand that giant
steering wheel and that tiny shift knob?
I even have a UK made radio, the off/on volume switch is on the right
side. That takes some getting used to.
This Midget will be the "community" Midget at Sprite spree.
It is spoken for for the meet, will be used as the tech car, also
featured in one of the major events (right chuck?) and will be offered
FOR SALE the day the meet ends. So if you were thinking about coming but
your car isn't finished, buy this one and use it at Sprite Spree :)
Resale red, new black top and interior, if it counts, it's new.
1275 right around 40,000 original miles on the whole car.
