The old formula from geometry class..... A squared plus B squared equals C

Make a triangle. One leg is 16 miles (8 + 8) and the second leg is 12 miles
(6 + 6) and the third leg (the long one, or hypotenuse) is the answer as the
crow flies. 16 squared is 256. 12 squared is 144. 144 + 256 is 400.
Square root of 400 is 20... voila.
