Let's look at it from the non-purist perception.
The engine come from a RX-7 (obviously). Mazda
The weight is less than the typical 1275 or 1500 engine.
It's a 1.3 litre (About the same as the 1275) but can churn out 150-200 HP.
The transmission is a 5 speed.
Yeh...the car is British and the engine will be Japanese...so what...It's
not like I butchered a perfectly good 64 Sprite (I would never do THAT!).
Those on the list that know me should be able to vouch for me. (I'll pay you
guy's later) :o))
Seriously though...I've had the pleasure to ride in a Midget with a rotary!
OH MY!!!!....I think it was Will Smith that said "I gots to get me one of
these!" That is the thought that went through my head as we took a 15mph
corner at 40mph and the tires never chirped. AAAaahhhhhhhhhh...wonderful
memories.
Keep in mind that this is a street rod project. These projects are never
cheap and never are completed in a few months, unless you have unlimited
disposable income; of which I don't have. :o))
SO...if the purists are offended....oh well...too bad. :o))

A guy in the car club put a miata motor in his MGA. The little fellas
couldn't figure how his old jalopy could beat them. Now he has a honorary
membership into the miata club. Poor guy
