Hi, Frank:
Stock (per Pixelperson) 21.(4) cc's
Factory Race Min. 16.4cc's
Vizard says that reducing the size of the
combustion chamber the max amount
aids better flow than raising compression
by piston. This assumes piston crown's
highest surface (closest to the block on
dished, obviously!) matches the deck
perfectly.
Strictly for the purposes of information
the old factory Special Tuning sheets call
different needles and springs along with a cut to the head for 19cc's
at Stage 1 through Stage 2, where cam
change begins.
Starting at Stage 3, they cut the head
further to 16.4cc's and at Stage 4 they
do flatops as well as a wilder cam before
they get to stage 5 with a wilder cam, yet
again along with larger SU's or a 45 DCOE.
Of course, this is just the factory's
tuning progression...just their way.
