I did, Ray!! :)
Bill Perry and his boys did a great job
for very reasonable cost. An 8.3-1 (CR
tailored for Judson Supercharger)
1293 with an EN40 crank, balanced &
blueprinted to street spec., lightened flywheel, Cooper "S" cam, Aldon
dizzy,
PerTronix, 1.5RR's, alum. head, off-engine o/f set-up
and rebuilt Datsun 5 speed with real
rear main seal in the rear engine plate.
With med. bore LCB and 1.75 exhaust
through RC40 rear box, this engine's
low and mid-range is nothing less than
excellent, even at 8.3-1. It runs beautifully
on 89PON in the winter and 93PON in
the summer with 32 degrees of total timing. Quite the low-end/mid-range
high torque street machine I envisioned.
And with a 3.7 on 175/70's, it'll cruise all
day at 3200rpm and 70mph.
If we ever get the Judson's heat issues
straightened away we'll install the blower
the engine was designed for, though I am
quite satisfied with it normally aspirated.
Excellent build!! :)
