My opinion is stick with rubber.
I did the polys on my 59 (1275) Bugeye. It was tight, too tight.
It would change lanes when you hit the white line. A pothole sent it
sailing. I had polys all around, the car was gourgeous yet I hated to
drive it. I sold it. I am now running rubber on the 60 Bugeye with a
1275.
My .02 cents.
