Guys-
The Kent 276 is effective up to a certain
rpm and the springs that come with the
kit are "rated" accordingly, most likely
assuming the stock rocker ratio.
In this respect the manufacturer will use
the softest valve spring which will allow
the cam to perform according to it's profile
without undue loading on the cam and
valve train.
Kent will probably therefore, recommend
a "softer" spring then they supplied with
their kit.
You can see now why I recommended a
call to the cam manufacturer!! The 1.5
rockers will automatically make the springs intended to be used with 1.3
rockers much "stiffer" than they need be
for use with their particular grind. No sense using valve springs which
will permit 9,000 rpm operation with a cam
profile designed to max out at 7,000.
