Going back to the idiot light associated with the charging system. Got
a question.
Yesterday I drove to the train station in the Midget. It was foggy so I
turned on the lights. Well it was also daylight (can you see this one
coming??) but when I got home it was dark, so dark the car wouldn't
start. I got a jump and headed for the ol' hacienda. Along the way the
charging light comes on, it was off a minute ago, I swear it was. I got
home slapped the old trickle charger on the battery and this AM the
idiot light was glowing brightly. In fact it gets brighter with higher
RPM's. As do the dash lights and headlamps. I think I may have fried
the voltage reg in the GM alt I have on the car.
Thoughts, Agreements, Stoopid Comments??
BTW the battery seems fine, started the car tonight after sitting all
day. The Alt is putting put about 14 v at speed, when I checked last
night. Didn't check today.
