Listers,

My racing 1959 Bugeye is for sale... VARA logbook with annual tech pass for
this year... Asking price is $10,000. Please contact me off-list for photos.

Details as follow:

Car/Chassis number: AN5-L/24565, Engine number: 9C-U-H/24063. Built 7
October 1959, shipped to US on 9 October 1959. This car has spent all its
life in Southern California.

Car was raced from 1960 to 1972 (SCCA H production, second owner won the
Castrol Winter series in So Cal with it in 1971), turned back into a street
car from 1972 to 1997, and rebuilt 1997-1999 as a race car.

CHASSIS: Lowered springs, tube shocks, disk front brakes, dual ball bearing
rear hubs, competition halfshafts, locked diff, "Fuel Safe" fuel cell with
custom filler, Holley fuel pump with pressure regulator, central mounted
battery, Auto-Power roll bar with forward brace, Tilton Brake pedal assembly
with balance bar (adjustment from cockpit), special rear axle locating bar,
heavy-duty front sway bar. Dash and firewall are engine turned.

WHEELS: Four Revolution racing wheels with BF Goodrich R1 race tires; four
steel wheels with Michelin race tires- Tire size is 185 x 60/13.

ENGINE: 948 cc plus overbore (1018 cc). All moving and rotating parts are
fully balanced and lightened, ARP studs and bolts throughout, crank
dampener, oil cooler with Aeroquip lines, remote competition oil filter,
custom-made heavy-duty radiator. Custom headwork including reshaped
combustion chambers, enlarged ports, large valves, and custom designed
Schneider cam. Duplex gear kit with adjustable cam timing. Cold air box,
modified SU carburetors, and "Aldon red" race distributor with Lucas
ignitor, MSD coil. Balanced competition aluminum flywheel (brand new) and
competition clutch (brand new), ribbed cage gearbox with competition/close
ratio straight cut gears. Exhaust headers with megaphone pipe.

Car has just been checked by a professional race mechanic, had a full
service, and is ready to race. I have many receipts for parts fitted to this
car since 1997 (over $22,000 worth). The previous owner had a trailer built
for the Bugeye by Texas Trailers in San Diego county, and this will be given
free to whomever buys the car.

The street equipment (windscreen, wipers, lights, gauges, etc) is available
and will be given to the buyer, as well as many additional spares, including
some new racing parts (competition sump, roller bearing rocker shaft, etc),
a hardtop and a spare fiberglass bonnet.
