Nope.... I have a Piper 286. Decided against the TS cam (maybe a mistake...)
It's lumpy, but I advanced it 4 degrees with a vernier gear set to bring down
the power range a bit. It's got lots of power, but I'm not sure how much of
the additional power is due to just the cam.
I do find, however, that the lumpy idle 1) makes people look at it closely at a
light, and 2) makes kids in camaro's wear out their rear tires when we both
happent o be 1st in line. <grin> or is that <groan>.
Try either TS, or elgin cams at http://www.elgincams.com/
Read the page on camshafts (and deciding on one).
This is what they have in stock for 1500 engines (under spitfire)
TRIUMPH SPITFIRE PROFILES
We strongly recommend having these cams nitrided after grinding because of the
wear problems they are known for. The valve lifters almost always go bad so it
would be best if you sent them along with your cam so we could measure and
regrind them.

did mine, and Mike Graziano's. I opted for the TSI275-4 grind. I like it, a
bit lumpy at idle, but lot's o' ponies at full tilt.
