I am not a concours guy by a long shot--on the other hand I would never cut
up a Healey and make a funny car out of one. So I am not aware of this
avoidance of assistance. I can only guess--could it be that the level of
competition is so keen in the judging that the concours folk look at the
whole field of restoration differently than the rest of us? It is a field
not of enjoyment of the cars for the cars sake, but one of building my car
better than your car so I can win the judgement? I dunno--just a thought.
Personally I want people to look at my car, and I want people to enjoy
looking at my car, but I don't really care how my car stacks up against other
Spridgets. The most important looker and enjoyer is me. 8^)
