My wife felt the same way. I think that it is the big tank that
freaks them out. I never had to fight that battle, I got such a good
(read cheap) deal on my compressor that I never went to buy a 60
gallon unit.

If it runs on 110v it is not a true 6HP compressor. Someone will
chime in, but the manufactures have been inflating HP over the years.
That is the startup HP I think.

In my house it is like this. I get a nasty cut or injury and come in
the house. My wife, being squeamish, does not want to look at the cut.
So from across the room, she will give a diagnosis that all I need is
a butterfly bandage. When I say but it looks deep, I can see the
bone, she replies "Don't be a such a sissy." The funny thing is a
butterfly will usually fix the injury.
