After the recent discussion of insurance of 'classic' cars, I called AAA to
check on the policy on the Traveller. Now that it is re-painted I thought
it would be best to be sure it was insured for an amount close to its value.
Since it is a daily driver I didn't want any of the restrictions attached to
a stated value or agreed value policy.
I was surprised to find that AAA had already covered the car for $6K to 7K,
pretty close to what I would consider its value to be. (unless you add in
my time, about $200,000 should do it.) No restrictions at all. They did
suggest that I have a set of dated photos and keep all receipts to eliminate
any problems should an F-150 back into it.
I can only hope they are half so reasonable when I finish the paint job on
the bugeye. and try to insure it for $8K. Time will tell.
