This is a reply to Rob Thomas who inquired about the
tie rod clearance on my car with the B brakes.
I was taking pictures this weekend of the car and
checked the clearances you asked about. I did not have
to grind anything of of my tie rod ends to have
clearance to the rotor. It is very close but does not
touch. The closest to the rotor is the rubber tie rod
boot. I have been running it all this year with no
problem. If yours is close you could try either
bending the arm a bit, or grinding some material off
of the tie rod end (but I do not think there is much
material there, so be careful and the boot may still
be a problem) or switch to a spherical rod end
bearing. I plan to do that should my car not sell.
I did have to grind some material off of the calipers
to not interfere with the rotors. This was where the
rotor hat comes close to the the outer caliper piston
chamber. This was all described by The Winner's Circle
guys.
