You've narrowed it down a problem a problem with the spark to #3, so
there is no need to mess around with anything that is not specific to
#3. So, what _is_ specific to #3? The #3 contact inside the
distributor cap, the spark plug wire, and the spark plug itself.
Start with the low hanging fruit. Switch spark plug wire #1 and #3,
both at the plug and at the distributor. Check for erratic spark to
#1 or #3. If the erratic spark is now at the #1 plug, the spark plug
wire is probably at fault. If not, switch plug #1 and #3 and test
again. If the erratic spark is at plug #1, then probably the plug is
at fault. If neither plug or wire is at fault, try a new distributor
cap.
It sounds like this is a heat-related problem, based on your
observation that the misfire occurs only after running the engine for
a while. My best guess is that this indicates a faulty plug wire, but
it could be the cap or plug.
