My Fellow Spridgeteers,
For those of you that don't know about distributor machines, briefly....
They tell you when advance begins, ends and how much total advance you
get from the distributor being tested.
By changing springs.... and weights... you alter the advance "curve".
Different engines require more or less ignition timing, as well as when
it comes in and/or peaks.
There are as many reasons to needing to know such information as there
are degrees in a circle... well,... You get the picture.
This is a very basic description of what the machine does. Being able
to modify your dizzy's a good thing at times.
