just read about software that lets a bid go in just before the cut off time 
so no one can outbid it, if it is higher than the last bid. apparently you 
tell it to watch an item and set your highest bid and it will automatically 
outbid the last bidder (if your highest bid is higher). takes all the fun out 
of an auction.
