Eh, Frankie,
Nice-a-talian boy like-a you, how you gotta all growed up an' don' know
from pizza? Pizza is from Naples. And by law, you can't call it pizza unless
it has strips of fresh tomato, basil, and mozzarella. A real Margherita.
You can put a couple of anchovies on it, and some oregano, but nothin else;
not if you want to call it pizza and sell it and not get arrested by the Food
Caribineri.....
When I lived in Napoli, I must have eaten an acre of the stuff. And just
around the corner from my domicilo was a wine shop that had an old Socony gas
pump that dispensed house wine for about a buck a gallon.....
The Blue Moon on the corner of Aldrich Rd and Highway 9 in Howell does
a pretty fair imitation of the Margie for about half of Pissa Hump's ketchup
and velveeta on pitabread.... Mark
