Hey everyone, I have been watching this subject with quite a lot of
enthusiasm. The reason being that I am currently having a friend of mine
build me a exact copy of my Bugeye dash out of solid Billet Aluminum. He is
using a 3-D digitizer and a C&C machine to do the job. He is planning on
making me a wood mock-up of how his machine would turn it out, then make the
real deal hollowed out and ready to mount every gauge down to the boost
gauge for my Shorrock! It will be finished with the machined swirls
(perfectly spaced by the C&C). After that he is going to recreate the
shifter dome from the Bugeye for me. I am probably going to have the both
of them clear anodized here in St. Louis.
The intent here is to make a REAL aluminum dash for the Sprite that will go
well with the Carbon Fiber and Kevlar interior panels an other buddy made
for me. If any of you are interested in how much one of these dashes would
cost let me know. He is making these special for me, but it would be just
as easy to have the machine crank out a couple more.
