Replace the fan. Not only can an overheated CPU cause a crash, the CPU can die! Ball bearing fans cost a bit more but are worth it. My Gigabyte slot-A Athlon board has BIOS settings for keeping track of the dual fans' RPM and also CPU temp. Heat is a critical factor to your computer's lifespan. BTW, so is dust. A nice coating of dust on the MOBO & its components can cause tiny current loops and overheating. When's thea last time everyone blew the dust out of their system unit & monitor? Time for a 10,000 mile check? Charley Robinson Computer Helpers |
