Some peoples machines aren't setup to display extensions, and it easy to
have an .exe file with a zip icon in it's place. Another possibility which I
have seen are viruses called whatever.zip.exe Just trying to trick people is
all it is.
Just keep your DAT files up to date, and you are fine.
