Chris,
Just remember - when hand cranking a TR3 have the crank handle at the lowest
point, crank it UP with an open hand (DO NOT put your thumb over the crank
handle, and only pull it to the top!
I had a TR3 with a bad battery when I was young and too poor to buy a new
battery. Had many successful starts and no injuries.
