Fred,
The NRA does NOT promote automatic weapons for sporting purposes and never
has. Handguns of larger calibers are used for hunting very effectively when
configured and scoped properly. Handgun hunting presents its own set of
challenges and actually gives the game
more of a sporting chance. I will not even address the ignorant comment about
high school students. It doesn't deserve an intellegent response. Your fear
of guns has been fed by the anti-gun lobby propaganda to show the NRA in a less
than responsible light. The NRA
trains Police officers every year in classes that will probably save their
lives. They also also promote gun safety and they NEVER promote gun use by
children. They in fact have a program that is taught in many schools in the
United States called the Eddie Eagle
Program. This program teaches children when they see a gun, not to touch it,
go get get an adult. An adult would not be afraid of a gun. Maybe if you see
a gun, you should not touch it, go get a responsible adult.
