Hi list, According to ARP the friction (which leads to the torque reading) of any given fastener is highest the first time it is used and progressively decreases to the point where it no longer drops because the friction levels out and becomes constant. Thus ARP recommend that new fasteners should be tightened and loosened through FIVE times before final torque is applied. For more info (and a handy catalogue) www.arp-bolts.com Daniel1312 |
