Subject: | Camshaft endfloat |

I have installed a new 266 cam in the1275. I went to check endfloat and had an incredible .108. (Spec calls for .003-.007). Have I left something out? The Haynes manual says that if this is out of spec, then a new endplate is required. If the endplate holds in the cam, what is the purpose of the retaining plate. My retaining plate is flat on both sides. If this is correct, then the endfloat would basically equal the endplate thickness. Help! |
