Hi all,
I have a lead on a 75 Midget in CA. My son would like a car to drive
and this might be the one. So I need some info from the Californian on
the list.
75 is the year we required a Cat. on our cars, (No this isn't a feline
joke). In my memory the car should have a catalytic converter, and a
single carb to be registered in the state of CA. Anyone out there have
knowledge of these special 1500 Midgets? It was only for 2 years that
we were different then the rest of the country. I have the
Sprite/Midget bible but it is a little vague in this area. it shows a
pic with two carbs, but says something about different carbs on CA cars
but never mentions the year it started.
I am going to look at her tomorrow. He has told me it has two carbs and
the engine is out. Speedometer is only reading 52K, and it was in
storage for the last ten years inside a garage. He didn't see any
rust. Asking price of $600.00, But if I cant get her smogged then It
might be way over priced.
