Sorry if this shows up twice, I'm resending it due to a mail problem.
Well, today being a glorious day for motoring, the first of the season
where we can drive without melting here in South FL, I fired up the
TR6 and headed across town to Ft. Lauderdale beach and up the coast a
few miles. Nothing but a pedestrian sidewalk (as opposed to a fancy
one?) between me and the sand and surf, the big 6 (okay, medium 6)
rumbling it's mellow tune as every so often people would shout "Nice
car!"...............oh, wait, I forgot where I am...............people
would shout "Nice car, too bad it's not a Bugeye!".................
Anyway, I eventually wandered over to "The New Auto Toy Store", where
those velvet movie ropes separate you from the millions of $ of exotic
iron, until you check in at the counter and are escorted by an
Automotive Counsellor or whatever they're currently calling used car
salesmen in that league these days.
Well, in the center of the floor amidst the Italian steeds was this
totally cool looking red Bugeye that was mentioned here the other day
from the autotrader, with the number 16 on the doors. I mean, this
thing is absolutely awesome, in, out, and under. The guy said they
have something of a racing history on it. I had to let him down easy,
so I said since they had removed the heater system, I wasn't
interested as we do get a couple of chilly days down here. Of course,
I couldn't let on that the price was just a tad high for my meager
budget. A mere $38K. Ta daaaaa.
