We don't have "safety" inspections and since it's before a '74, no smog
test/ inspection to worry about.
you could get regular plates, vanity plates, whale plates, palm tree
plates, Ronald Reagan plates, AIDS plates, Fresno College plates, Sierra or
Yosemite plates, UCLA College plates, AD NASEUM!
Think I'm kidding?

Subject: Calif. plates for 67 Sprite
Does anyone out there know if a 67 Sprite pass inspection for unrestricted
plates in California? Or can you only get "Classic" plates with whatever
restrictions that imposes?
My 67 Sprite is original as they come, no modifications at all. It passes
in NJ for "regular" plates and I drive it whenever, and wherever I
want....wonder if that kind of bliss would be possible in CA.
